Super

Fun. N’est pas gourmand en ressources. Original.

So much fun!

If you were a fan of the Abe Oddessy series, you won’t be disappointed. Same game play, same good fun!

As good as i remember it

Too Funny

Strangers world

This triggers my memories from back on the old xbox. just how i remembered it, i’ve had 0 problems with this game so I rate 10/10 would buy

Runs fine!

Excellent game—fun blend of third/first/person. plays great on my system: 2.5 GHz Core i5 Mac Mini running 10.9.5 Mavericks.

Not ready to go to town...

OOOPS! Seriously, it takes some really bad code to completely lock up a brand new Apple computer. This junk does just that! Every time I try to enter “Town”, the game locks up the computer. I’m not going to bother with the details, just stay way from this trash. I wish you luck should you decide to buy! No support at all. Support link takes you to a homepage that does not contain any support information at all. Click on the support link and there are no references to this game whatsoever. I hope the thieves who ported this trash can sleep.

Just as I remembered!

This is awesome, I have been so bummed Xbox hasn’t brought this game back, but now I can play it with my 360 Controller plugged into the computer just like the original Xbox. My only gripe is the button configurations don’t save. Hopefully this gets fixed

Nothing beats it! Oddworld on the Mac - Happy Days!

Since the xbox days - this game was one of the Best! - Amazing story, characters, graphics - Graphics today still hold up - albeit dated - The characters have still yet to be matched and the story is truly unique - And that sums up the game - Unique! $10 well spent - Plus I get to use my xbox contrller and play it like the days long gone! -Total Treat!

Beautiful Graphics, horrible controls

Keyboard controls for all movement. No thanks.

No problems here!

Downloaded just fine. No issues for me. Game is great. Oddworld fan from Abes World….this is a treat. Bring us Abe!!!

A fun game.

I did not get to play this game when it first came out. I thought i would give it a try and im glad I did because I really like it and recommend it to anyone looking for a good game.

Nostalgia

Love it.. Waited a while for this to be playable on Mac.. miss this game. and you cant find it anywhere on Xbox.

Not the same but great game

The original Oddworld had more puzzle challenges in addition to the arcade style. Still a great game. I have reconfigured all the controls for better left hand experience around the arrow keys, slightly slows down game play when I am loading my crossbow, but since it pauses for that, it hasn’t been a concern. Nice graphics but with the lack of bright colors it’s not striking… more realistic? I would love to see more from the Oddworld Universe

Terrific Game at a Killer Price

Love, love, LOVE this game. So much fun. At the 40% off price of $6, it’s a absolute steal. Running just fine on a 2011 MBP with the i7 quad core, but it has plenty of options for dialing down detail to manage performance if need be. Also, learning how to run the game off of keyboard controls will take some getting used to, but by the third bounty it’s become pretty usable. If you’re a fan of Oddworld, you’ll love it.

Great reprise of an even greater game

There are few items that triggers me to impulsively buy something without much or no thinking at all. As soon as I saw this available in the App Store, I didn’t even hesitate to purchase it. I remember the game from the original xbox console and knew it was a great game then. It features a truly unique story line, clever game concepts and characters, as well as humorous dialogue, puns and references. The game is an interesting blend of first person shooter and platform game mechanics. It is a fantastic reprise with no faults in gameplay. It runs smoothly. (depending on your computer’s hardware and performance capablilities - of course). and you can use a USB pluggable controler to play, instead of having to utilise the keyboard configurations. I had a an old PS3 controller lying around and simply plugged it in via USB prior to opening the game and it almost immediatly recognized the controller and implemented the PS3 controller congfigurations for gameplay. I have no complaints or negative comments for this game. I hope other purchaser feel the same way.

Ergonomic Nopefish

I bought this game specifically because it was a console port. I wanted to use a gaming controller. Leaning forward for hours on end to use a mouse and keyboard for a game is something I’ve refused to do for years because I have back issues. Being a console port, I should EASILY be able to use a controller. Well, THIS GAME DOES NOT SUPPORT GAMEPADS. Maybe it supports an xbox controller, but I do not own one. On the right stick, the X and Y axis are reversed, leaving your horizontal motions making vertical camera movement and vice versa. The hat switch is ALWAYS in the full upper left position, leaving the game constantly cycling through inventory, and making it completely unplayable. The controller I’m using is less than a day old, and tests perfectly on the Joystick Show app. The game has no method by which to properly calibrate the controller, only assign buttons, which will never solve the problem. Furthermore, the host of the app refuses to honor refund requests on their highly defective product. Negative one stars. I normally rate an unplayable game zero stars, but they also stole my money. Avoid at all costs. As a game developer myself, I can tell you that basic input configuration is one of the EASIEST things to program, and is often done before any of the actual content is even imported into the game. The ONLY way this issue occurs is if the people who ported it are EXTREMELY lazy, and DO NOT CARE AT ALL about the end user’s experience. I’m a fair minded person, and I will rewrite my review when and if this absurd and highly unnecessary issue is solved.

Not good

I saw 40% off and made the mistake of purchasing. Not surprisingly I was pretty disappointed. This is literally a port of the iphone version. They didn’t even bother to change the the menu which has huge buttons and a SLIDER for the game resolution. The game is capped at 30 fps and no matter how low I set the settings I couldn’t get anywhere above that. Furthermore this is NOT THE HD VERSION. The textures and models all look like crap, presumably the same that are in the mobile port. They did not bother to use the upgraded assets from the 2011 remaster. So don’t bother with this unless you want a mediocre experience playing the game.

This game is awesome!

I love this game. So far I am half way through the story line and it has kept my interest this whole time. The cut scenes are interesting and the graphics are really quite good. The scenery in the game reminds me of an updated version of The Legend of Zelda. I have two macs, my laptop being the more powerful one. I play this game on full graphics detail on a Mac Mini desktop, 4gb ram, intel 5000 graphics. Have experienced no crashing or lagging. Really a fun game! Well worth the $6 price tag.

Glad I bought it

A really good game, better than I expected. Difficult controls on a touch-pad but that just makes it more of a challenge.

It works now!

I had a problem with the game at first. I have a device called a Space Navigator that I use for AutoCad. The game defaulted to that device and would not allow me to set up the keyboard until I unplugged the Space Navigator. Works now!
